A note from Ben Scott-Brandt:

When J Schwanke invited me to write all the original music for four seasons of his TV show, J Schwanke's Life In Bloom, it was a special invitation. The show is sweet and upbeat, as J shares his wisdom and experience from a life in floristry. Best of all, every minute is full of beautiful flowers and foliage. So relaxing!

The challenge for writing the original music was to approach every melody line with a happy, sparkly, and easygoing mood. Flowers can be serious, but mostly they are beautiful and healing to the senses, so I learned to let the notes and phrasings in my arrangements relax and climb like flowers. The months I spent working on these songs had a profound effect on my mood. I learned to write cheery melodies that felt authentic and tender. The show feels good, in part because of the music, and the music made me feel great while I was writing it! I hope you enjoy this record while working with flowers, being outside, or spending time with a few special plants.

A note from J Schwanke:

With minimal input on my part, I invited Ben to 'do his thing' for the show's score - and wow, did he succeed! So much so, that fans have been asking from early on, where to get the music so that they may arrange flowers - to the music from the show. So here it is, the perfect score, composed as a companion for flowers and flower arranging. The songs collected here create a mood, instill calm, and - I hope - inspire us all to enjoy flowers and create a 'Life in Bloom.'
